As part of our mission to help the Croatian diaspora return and reconnect with their homeland, we cooperate with a trusted partner: the First Step Croatia Office, which provides emigrants and returnees with a wide range of services, from administrative and legal services and return and integration support to business, finance and real estate.
 
To enable people a safer, simpler and more organised return process, this partner support takes over all matters related to citizenship, obtaining required documentation, registrations and other administrative steps that often represent the greatest challenge for returnees.
 
While the Marshall Plan Hrvatska Association focuses on strategic projects, economic networking, development initiatives and strengthening cooperation with the diaspora, the partner office provides concrete and professional support to emigrants and returnees in their personal return processes.
 
In this way we create a system in which the diaspora can, in one place, receive both a vision of the future and real assistance in their first steps towards Croatia.

Vesna Kuna is the head of the First Step Croatia Office, our partner office.
 
And she would say about herself: For many years I have worked with people, documents and life stories that do not always fit into boxes and forms, because behind every form there is a person, and behind every question there is often a sleepless night. That is precisely why in my work I like to combine professional knowledge with a warm, human approach, because returning to Croatia is rarely just a "paperwork job" and much more often a major life decision. Working with returnees is particularly close to my heart, because behind every enquiry I see a story of belonging, courage and the desire for a new beginning in a familiar environment.
